Litigation is the name given to matters in a solicitor's practice that deals with court related work. This can include Court actions seeking compensation for Injuries, Court actions for Breach of Contract, Defamation, Actions for Negligence, and much more. We understand that for most people do not want to end up in court, whether as a Plaintiff or Defendant. Our approach, given our experience and expertise is to advise clients on the best course of action, and to explore all options, including negotiating a settlement of the issue, without having to undergo the trauma and stress of a Court appearance. In many cases Mediation or Arbitration will provide a speedy, confidential and inexpensive alternative to Litigation. Sometimes a claim will proceed to court and can be heard in the District Court, the Circuit Court or the High Court, depending on the nature of the claim. It should be noted that in contentious business, a solicitor may not calculate fees or other charges as a percentage or proportion of any award or settlement. |
